Tesla keeps underperforming more tariff-affected automakers
Thanks to tariffs and reciprocal tariffs, automakers are doing terribly today. But hey, at least they’re not Tesla, which at one point was down more than 11% this morning. It’s down 8.1% as of 11:20 a.m.
That’s despite having a leg up compared to other car companies when it comes to tariffs, since its cars are assembled in the US.
As we mentioned earlier today, Tesla is facing myriad headwinds, from plummeting sales to increased competition to self-inflicted wounds from CEO Elon Musk. Even retail traders who are buying everything else during this market rout aren’t buying Tesla.
