TikTok hasn’t been available on US app stores for about two weeks, but that hasn’t stopped the scroll. The app’s traffic immediately bounced back from its plunge when it briefly went dark on January 18 and is now at about 90% of its pre-ban traffic numbers in the US, according to Cloudflare.
Per the same data, visits to the apps many see as the biggest benefactors of a TikTok ban, including Meta and Snap, are up only about 10% from early January (and actually down from the period immediately prior to the ban, due to the spike in popularity of RedNote at the time).
TikTok’s US rivals have been desperate to win over TikTokers: X and Bluesky both launched vertical video tabs, and Meta is said to have offered some popular TikTok creators up to $50,000 a month to post on Instagram Reels.
