Tesla’s annual sales decline might have been even worse in the US

Tesla’s latest delivery numbers were bad — down 1% year over year — marking its first annual sales decline as a public company. Those numbers look even worse in the US, where deliveries were down 5%, according to EV publication Electrek, citing a popular Tesla analyst.

Increased sales in China helped offset declines in the US and Europe, as did the company’s new Cybertruck offering, which, despite disappointing sales, still helped US deliveries look better than they would have otherwise. Even for that relatively bright spot in the world’s second-largest economy, Tesla’s sales growth is decelerating.

Per analyst Troy Teslike, Tesla sold nearly 35,000 fewer vehicles in the US in 2024 than it did a year earlier — a drop-off that nearly erases its total Cybertruck sales.
