JetBlue shares fly higher as it begins accepting Venmo

Like a friend who wants all the credit-card points from dinner, JetBlue is now accepting Venmo.

The airline becomes the first carrier to offer PayPal’s Venmo as an option. Its shares were up more than 6% today.

Earlier this month, the DOT hit JetBlue with a first-of-its-kind $2 million fine, alleging the carrier operated at least four “chronically delayed” flight routes. Last week, the agency sued Southwest Airlines and fined Frontier Airlines, accusing them of similar persistent delay issues.
