France restores its friendship with Doritos

Cheetos have returned to France, ending its long national nightmare.

A roughly three-month feud between Pepsi and European grocery chain Carrefour (the world’s seventh-largest retailer) appears to be over, at least in France. In January, the chain announced it would stop selling Pepsi products (Pepsi, Doritos, Lay’s, Cheetos, etc.) in its over 12,000 stores due to the company’s repeated price hikes.

Pepsi hiked its prices by double-digits for seven consecutive quarters through last fall before cooling off and hiking prices by just high single digits.

Pepsi doesn’t appear to have lowered its prices to make amends, and in fact said last year that it planned "modest" price hikes this year.
