Europe’s top court upheld a ruling forcing Apple to pay $14.35 billion in back taxes (plus interest) to Ireland. The money is already in an escrow account in Ireland but, even if it weren’t, Apple wouldn’t have a hard time coming up with the mammoth sum. Apple had $61.8 billion in cash on hand and liquid investments last quarter — more than enough to foot the bill.
