On Tuesday, President Trump incorrectly stated that Meta is spending $50 billion on its Hyperion data center in Louisiana, when the social media company has said the cost of its city-sized data center would be about $10 billion. Taking a diplomatic cue from Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook — who famously didn’t correct Trump when he took credit for opening a plant that had already been open for years — Meta declined to comment on the president’s assertion.
