Ives: Musk-Trump feud “not ideal” for robotaxi launch
Tesla is supposed to roll out its circumscribed robotaxi program as soon as this week, days after a very public breakup between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and the president of the United States. While Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives says the timing is “not ideal” for the robotaxi launch and its promised expansion to cities across the US this year, he expects the two to mend their friendship and clear the way for Tesla’s domination:
“We fully expect under a Trump White House these key initiatives will get fast tracked (despite the Musk beef) as the federal regulatory spiderweb that Musk & Co. have encountered over the past few years around FSD/autonomous clears significantly under Trump given his focus on AI dominance over China.”
