Incognit-no!
It turns out Google’s “Incognito” mode wasn’t so incognito.
A class-action lawsuit filed in 2020 accused Google of not properly disclosing what data was collected in its “Incognito” browsing option, including data on which websites people visited. Now as part of a settlement, the tech giant is planning to destroy data on millions of users’ browsing histories, update its privacy disclosures, and give users the option to disable third-party cookies while in Incognito, according to reporting by the Wall Street Journal.
