Google invests another billion in Anthropic
A billion here, a billion there.
The tech giants continue to pour billions of investment dollars into AI startups in a scramble to secure a spot in the next wave of tech. The FT is reporting that Google has invested another $1 billion in AI startup Anthropic, on top of the $2 billion it has already invested in the company.
Anthropic, founded by former OpenAI employees (and siblings) Dario and Daniela Amodei, is currently raising funds seeking a $60 billion valuation.
Amazon has already invested $8 billion in Anthropic, which is using the company’s Claude AI model to power the next-generation Alexa voice assistant.
The company has also received investments from Qualcomm, Salesforce, and Zoom.
