Apple is producing all four iPhone 17 models in India
For the first time ever, Apple is producing every model of its new phone — the iPhone 17 — in India from the get-go, Bloomberg reports. It’s part of a yearslong effort to lessen the company’s reliance on China for US-bound products.
Electronics like Apple’s iPhone have so far avoided sectoral tariffs, and the company has been exempted from chip tariffs thanks to its hundreds of billions of investment in American manufacturing swaying President Trump, though country-level tariffs remain.
