Here’s which US goods are about to get slammed by Canada’s $30 billion tit-for-tat tariffs
Canada is preparing to impose 25% tariffs on a wide array of American products.
Even though President Trump pulled back from slapping tariffs (why are tariffs always “slapped”?) on Mexican imports, unless a last-minute deal is brokered, 25% tariffs are due to hit Canadian imports to the US on Tuesday.
The Canadian government wasted no time releasing a slate of tit-for-tat 25% tariffs on US goods entering Canada, due to take effect on the same day as Trump’s tariffs. The list covers over $30 billion worth of goods, spanning everything from paper to palladium to playing cards. A lot of American food and beverage products — including produce, sauces, baked goods, beer, wine, and more — would be hit.
