Paramount Skydance soars as call-buying heats up
Paramount Skydance shares jumped 14% in Tuesday trading as call option activity surged. As of 1:05 p.m. ET, roughly 126,000 calls had traded — well above the daily average and one of the most active single sessions since the media deal was completed on August 7.
The spike comes as the newly formed company faces scrutiny in Washington. On Thursday, two House Democrats opened an investigation into whether commitments made during the deal process, including a $16 million settlement to President Donald Trump, may have factored into the Federal Communications Commission’s decision to approve the merger.
Paramount Skydance shares are now up 36% since the merger.
