Democratic Party platform doesn’t mention crypto once in 91 pages

The official platform of the Democratic Party has nothing to say about crypto. At least for now.

The Democratic National Convention kicks off today in Chicago, and ahead of the four-day event the party released a 91-page policy document detailing Democrats' official stance on a wide range of issues including taxes, efforts to reduce poverty, plans to protect social security, and ways to promote the creation of green jobs.

Nowhere in the platform are the words "crypto," "bitcoin," or "blockchain." As it stands, that's a marked contrast to the Republican Party platform which says the party will "defend the right to mine bitcoin" (among other pro-crypto talking points).

While the Democratic Party platform still needs to be approved by delegates (it theoretically could be changed before then), it suggests a party that — despite some calls for support — is still making up its mind on crypto.
