Buterin reveals plan for ethereum’s “surge”
The cofounder of ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, shared a lengthy road map today detailing his planned evolution of the blockchain. The goal: reach 100,000 transactions per second while “preserving the robustness and decentralization that makes Ethereum special.”
Buterin’s vision involves leveraging layer 2 roll-ups to scale the core ethereum network while keeping it secure.
He likened the model to the court system being the secure layer 1, protecting contracts and property rights, while entrepreneurs take on the layer 2 role and build on top of it to “take humanity to (metaphorical and literal) Mars.”
