Bitcoin hits new all-time high

Bitcoin’s hit a new all-time high today, passing $109,400 midmorning according to CoinDesk. The previous all-time high was $109,114, set on Inauguration Day.

This comes on the eve of the 15th anniversary of Bitcoin Pizza Day, a striking reminder of how far the asset has come since the first real-world bitcoin transaction.

Todd Ruoff, CEO of Autonomys, told Sherwood News that this new high reflects a confluence of macroeconomic and policy shifts, including the temporary easing of US-China trade tensions and significant progress on crypto-friendly US legislation.

“Institutional demand has also played a critical role, with major asset managers like BlackRock making substantial bitcoin purchases in recent weeks,” he added.
