Bluey boom could make brand worth billions

Bluey, the children’s animation series out of Australia that’s become a cultural touchstone in the U.S. and beyond, gets a nice treatment in the latest edition of Bloomberg Businessweek.

The piece, by Devin Leonard, surfaces some interesting financial details about the origins of the series. It also identifies which entities have benefitted the most from the success of the Australian Cattle Dog: Bluey creator Joe Brumm, Brisbane’s Ludo Studio, Disney+ and BBC Studios, the commercial arm of the BBC Group, which distributes Bluey everywhere outside of Australia, are foremost among them.
